The “casts” of the victims of the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD will be exhibited for the first time in the
excavations of Pompeii from next May 26. The initiative of the Superintendence for Pompeii, Herculaneum and Stabiae that, throughout the period of the Exhibition Pompeii casts (ending November 2) will increase the price of two euro entrance fee to the archaeological site.

The Exhibition Pompeii casts will be staged in the same time as the Archaeological Museum of Naples’ Pompeii and Europe “and will present many casts never before exposed and subject to a careful restoration. For the first time, will also be proposed, in the amphitheater of the excavations, a photo exhibition with vintage images of the excavations from the archives of the Superintendent.
