HADDON HEIGHTS, N.J. (Wireless Flash – FlashNews) – Whoever buys the “Amityville Horror” house currently for sale in Long Island should consider turning it into a bed & breakfast inn.

According to Jay Karen, president of the Professional Association of Innkeepers International, the famous house where Ronald DeFeo Jr. killed his family in 1974 would be “highly successful” as a B&B.

For starters, Karen thinks it’d be easy to market since everyone already knows about the notorious residence.

Furthermore, he says the five-bedroom home fits the standard size of a cozy B&B, although innkeepers would want to add a private bathroom to each room for comfort.

While the novelty would be enough to lure lodgers in, Karen says innkeepers would have to back up the hype with great service, an impressive menu, and modern amenities like free Wi- Fi, nice linens, and fancy toiletries.

He says owners could decorate using important artifacts from the home’s spooky history, but shouldn’t go overboard with campy accessories like fake blood dripping from the walls.
